Stephen Stills, Richie Furay, and Neil Young co-founded the “Buffalo Springfield” band in Los Angeles about 1966. The band published three studio albums, all of which charted well in the United States. By the end of the 1960s, Stephen Stills had co-founded “Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young” with David Crosby, Graham Nash, and Neil Young, with whom he would occasionally collaborate. The band has eight studio albums that have reached the top of the charts in numerous countries. Since 1996, Stephen Stills has been married to his third wife, executive producer and activist Kristen Stills. Stephen Stills has four sons and one daughter from his various marriages and partnerships.
Solo and CSNY tours (
Stills donated his stage, sound, lighting system and production manager in kind, but was later upset when Harrison “neglected to invite him to perform, mention his name, or say thank you”. Two additional acoustic tracks were released on Stills’s 2013 box set Carry On. In May 1970, CSN&Y recorded Young’s “Ohio” following the Kent State massacre on May 4. The single was rush-released by Atlantic Records at the same subsequent time as the group’s “Teach Your Children” was climbing the charts. After an extended second tour finishing in July 1970, the band split up acrimoniously.
